I got my Falken drag tires mounted on my 16" VW Beetle wheels & finally got em on my car last night. So my buddy wanted me to test them out, so I guess he called a few people & we went out into the country roads like 40minutes away from town....
1st the Golf VR6. We did a run from a dig. I barely heated up the tires. I reved up to 2.6k rpms & I bogged the launch, and by the time I just got into 3rd gear, I had that Golf by AT LEAST 8 car lengths. :shock: He claims he was spinning the wheels too much.
So we did a 1st gear roll, probably around 20mph. The second I hit the gas, I started passing him. Again, by the time I hit 3rd gear, I was probably 2 or more car lengths ahead. Then he realized how much faster MY VR6 is. I like the way his Golf looks though. Real clean for a yellow car.
I've been wanting to run this guy's 06 RSX-S for awhile now, but I kinda wish it was stock. lol.
06 RSX mods- K20Z, intake, header, washers in exhaust so it has some sound :lol:
I heated up my tires just a little for the 1st run. I launched @ like 2.5k rpms again, and bogged the launch like mad crazy.... He had me by almost 1 car on the launch.... And the he proceeded to walk on me pretty good by like 1.5 car lengths... So I stopped a little early and flashed the hi-beams letting him know....
So we lined up again for the rematch. And I was informed by a couple buddy's to heat my tires like crazy & to launch way higher in rpm's & feather the throttle if it spins. So i did probably a good 3 or 4 burnout's, (which I now wish I hadn't) & we lined up & I revved to about 3.5k rpms, and I rode the clutch out in 1st gear, and my car launched so amazing it's not even funny. I had the TypeS by a full car length through 1st gear, & I made the shift to second gear, & my clutch slipped like crazy, which made me lose momentum, and I was still about my car length lead until, He barely started creeping up in my 3rd gear, and we finished the 1/4 mile with my like a headlight length in front. But he was still catching me a little.
Isn't it amazing what a good launch can do for ya.
But I was a little scared that I fucked up my clutch, but as usual it was just over-heated & it's back to normal now... :thumbs up
I can't wait to hit the track this Friday!!!! I'm so excited to see what legit numbers I can lay down....
