My Integra hesitates during acceleration, help?

Okay,so I have an automatic 1990 Integra GS,and sometimes when I accelerate the car will hesitate,and it jerks or pulls a bit. When this happens, I noticed that the RPM's bounce around like crazy, up and down, up and down. Does anyone have an idea of what this might be? And also how much it will cost to fix this problem?
