My "headlights are on" warning beep doesn't work

i got a 91 teg and when i get out of the car with the headlight left on there is no warning sound . no beep no nothing.
is that how the car is set up or do i have a loose wire somewhere?

check fuses...thas wut i'd do first.

then check the wiring.

that was the first thing that i did .. all the fuses are fine.

the buzzer that makes the beep. where exactly is it located?

I would reccomend going and buying the manual, I cannot remember the name of the company, but they sell them at barnes and nobles. They are real good manuals

If I'm not mistaken the "buzzer" is part of the under dash fuse box.

I believe that the Integated Control Unit (ICU) controls the warning chimes and control other things such as: intermediate wipers, rear window defogger timer, signal lights, oil warning light and a few other functions.

my money is on the door sensor. sometimes it works for me, sometimes it doesnt.

the sensor is a lil "L" shaped piece of plastic that when the door closes, it pushes that piece in, telling the car that the door is closed. now sometimes that signal stays open or closed. might wanna check that out

i thought this thread was new, since Sam brought it up... not my fault

and yes, when you open your door, and your lights are on, there should be a beeping sound. its triggered by your door signal thingy.... do you see it right above your color code sticker?
