Ok .ive been woking on my Acura Integra 1991 B18a1. on idle. i did the (fast idle thermo valve cleaning) the (idle air control valve cleaning) for idle improvement. didn't really work stop the bad idle. I changed my Valve gasket (do to oil on spark plugs) and now all spark plugs are clean. Just this past weekend i did my Tune up (oil, oil filter, spark plugs). I still haven't changed my TPS do to No ride(all of my friends work)will be going to the Junk yard and getting it, on Sunday. Today i took it for a test drive and i noticed it wanted to choke and die i gave it some gas and it stop for a wile, till around the corner where my house is at. It just choke or idle till it died on me. So i turned it back on and it will not react to my gas touch, it will just seem as if it will just choke. Every time it died the Oil light and battery light will come on. See for your self and Please try and give me some well thought about ideas about what could be wrong ?

Thank you.

it could be that you cleaned the iacv,i did that once and the valve went bad. I had to get one from a junkyard and i just didnt clean it again.hope this helps

check for vacum leaks. how did you bolt down the valve cover? did you do it in a cross pattern or one bye one? Also check the plug on the iac valve to make sure it didn't come loose or fall off.

How does it run if you were to unplug the iacvalve while it idles? and have you check the adjustment screw on the throtle body? I have a 90 with the same prob, but all I did, get the car to running temp, shut it off, unplug the iac, start the car, now if it runs check the idle, it should be around550-600 rpm with that unplugged. If there is no difference in the idle when you start it with the iac unpluged there lies the problem, there should be a noticeable diffence unpluged and pluged in. If you can keep it running to adjust the idle, then plug the iac back in it should pick up air and start idling up, you may need to make adjustments to the air fuel mix. If that fails to help in any way than its back to the drawing board. I know thats what i did and it helped.

Whatsup! I've been having the same problem almost exactly. I've replaced since Oct.....fuel filter, fuel pump, pgmfi relay, fuel injectors, tps, fpr, distributor, and completely checked my elec. system and fuel system. I was driving it the other day and it started to die, just the same way as Doubts72s had explained his did, but with one difference, my cel came on with code 1- oxy sensor. Replaced, still have the dying issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
