ok so my cousin has a 96 z28 camaro he just spent around $7k in his motor and another $2k for suspension & fuel system. my cousins camaro is a fully built motor 5.7 liter 350 bored out to a 6.3 liter 383 motor...all forged parts,custom cam,trick flow heads ported,corvette intake manifold ported,headers,intake,custom exhaust,pistons,big ass crank,roller cam,valves,springs,everything is done including injectors (42 IBS), fuel pump. ok so my cousin has around 400 to 420 horsepower to the wheels and when he gets his car fully tuned it will probably free up about 20 horsepower..right now is tuned a little. my cousin is running the stock ss clutch do you think the clutch makes a big difference when you have this much power? i think it would becuase the clutch is what grabs the power right? so your losing some if the clutch cant handle it right? my cousin is saving up for a 800 twin disk clutch setup and a $2,000 dollor rear end.
ok so i live in nor-cal there is a pretty big ricer/racer scene up here so all the ricers/racers come to winco foods (grocery store) on fridays & saturdays..and they just chill there and look for races..so me and my cousin went there on friday looking for some one to race..and this guy comes up to my cousin and starts asking my cousin what he has done to the camaro my cousin tells him and the guy is amazed and my cousin revs it..so the guy ask's my cousin if he wants to race for 20 dollors & my cousin says yeah what do you have..he said i have that red evo over there..my cousin said yeah so we head out to look for a spot to race so we both line up at a stop light on the highway around 11:30 pm...ok so the guy is reving his evo so he can launch..and my cousin has no traction what so ever..he needs some slicks or drag radials..so my cousin thinks that he can take off slow so he doesnt start burning out and then catch back up in the next gear so the light turns green and we take off slow and we still managed to burn out for some reason and the guy in the evo is 3 car lenths ahead of us already and where flying threw the gears..and now my cousin is about 1 & a half car lengths behind so as my cousin pops into 6th gear we are going about 115mph and we quickly start catching up to the evo now we are a car lenth behind so we are still gaining on him fast and now we are going about 130mph and the next light turns red and my cousins cut's it so we pull over in a church and talk to the evo guy and we are checking his car out his checking ours out..and so we were about to hand if the 20 bucks put the guy in the evo was going to hand us 20 bucks becuase he said that is was a very good race and if that light didnt turn red that we would have to him..my cousin top end is crazy..and the evo guy said that if my cousin had some drag radials or some slicks and we were on the track that we would have killed the evo..the evo guy said thats why he races on the street becuase he know he can take people AWD..so we hand him the 20 bucks..ask him what he has done..and he said he is running higher boost,boost controller,turbo timer,cams and a few other mods. the evo guy runs low 12's...if my cousin's car was tuned & had some slicks or drags and when he gets his bigger rear end, and his twin disk cluth setup he would be in low 11's..so we drive back to winco foods tell the other people there about the race etc...and just chill there.
ok so saturday we go back out to winco..and today there is alot more people there and there is a group of 15 hatchs there and some other guys. when we ge there some guys come up to us that we were talking to on friday about our race with the red evo...so those guys come up and there like that guy that raced you yesterday with the red evo just took off a few minutes before you came to race a 5.0 mustang built with slicks. so were chillin there and i ask someone there is that stew and they say yeah it is...ok stew is the son of a millionaire in yuba city the town i live in which is about 50 minutes north of sac..this kid stew is like 19 years old and thinks he is the shit becuase has a evo..and his dad has a lambo..his dad invented and patented that trailer hitch bike rack..like the one that melt has on his cars....so this stew guy is always racing and shit and he has go caught plenty of times...and recently he got caught in sacramento racing a undercover police officer and he was int he yuba city newpaper...and this guy i heard has blown is motor before...he has a few mods like upgraded turbo..more boost..and some bolt-ons and maybe some internals like cams...he has around 400 to 430 horse power on his white evo. ok so my cousins has heard storys of this guy and how the thinks he is the shit..and if someone has a car faster than his he tells everyone that he will get his dads lambo and smoke them!..so i see that stew guy chillin with his friends by his car..and i go up to my cousin and tell him thats stew and race him etc....and my cousin says no becuase he doesnt have the time to go look for a spot becuase he we were going to leave in like 15 minutes. so a few minutes go by and a cop comes in the parking lot and turns on his lights and his loud speaker and tells everyone to get going and leave..so everyone runs to there cars and jump in and start taking off...so my and my cousin the the first ones to leave the parking lot..and we stop at a red light on the high way..so we take off and we are driving about 60 mph and that stew guy comes up right next to us with his hot ass girlfriend in the car and he downshifts..and my couins guns it and we hit 4th gear...and we take about 2 car lenths on stew and we hit 5th and we are now about 1 and a half car lenths ahead....and that stew car is switching his gears and his car sounds sick becuase of the turbo..its light ppssshhh....pssshshhhs....psshhshs....so now he is right next to us and we hit 6th gear and he hits his 5th gear and he is now about 1 car lenth ahead of us and gaining....so my cousin cuts it becuase there is a car in front of us....so my cousin is upset becuase he just got beat by the biggest ass there is in the city & and he drives a evo and thinks his the shit...so im like fuck how that bitch beat us etc...and my cousins like damn i really need a tune and some drags...ok so my cousin is like lets go home so we are heading home right after we get beat by stew we are driving home it is around 12:15am and we take a left at the light and that stew guy keeps going striaght ont he highway..so we are headed to my cousins house...and we are driving about 35 mph and my cousin looks in his review mirror and sees a car with hid's behing us so he slows down a little becuase the light turns red. so we stop at the light and im looking back and its that stew guy with the evo agian..and i tell my cousin its stew...so he looks over and stew and stew nods his head and got a grin on his face like hahahah bitch i just smoked you...so the let turns green and my cousin slowly takes off and he puts it into 2nd gear and he lets off the gas so stew can catch up to us and line up...but stew is trying to be a ass and he is trying to give us a headstart and he is saying he can take us even with the headstart..so stew is about 2 car lenths behind us..and we are going about 25 to 30 mph and stew downshifts and you can hear his turbo and he hits it so my cousin hits it and we just fucken pull on stew....we pop it into 4th gear and stew is like 6 car lenths behind us...and he turns into a store..becuase we raped him..he tried to catch up but couldnt and just turned as soon as he could! lol..so me and my cousin are talking about this stew guy and the race...and now my cousin wants to get some drag radials...we have the hook up on tires and rims...and my cousin wants to race this stew guy agian next saturday with his drag radials.....................

from a dead stop and see who wins? how long to drag radials last and will they make a difference? and do you only need to 2 drag radials for the rear tires? so yeah we know that stew will probably show up next week looking for another race becuase he got raped on the last race. sorry for all of this typing just wanted to give the details lol......what do you guys think?
do you guys think a rsx type s or a gsr fully built turbed with about 400 to 450 horsepower can smoke a evo with about the same amount of power? and this is in a drag race on the street at a dead stop. if so what type of things would i have to do to get traction.????
