my 98 Integra

Hello out there

I recently purchased my first car made in Japan a 1998 Acura Integra LS (4 door) automatic. I want to modifiy it give it a little more kick. I had planned on upgrading the cold air return and exhaust. The major problem I have is my Homeoweners group does not allow you to work on your car in public and being new to Maryland I don't know any good shops or areas. I did some some minor mods on my truck installed a dual exhaust kit and cold air return. How difficult would this be on the Acura? and would it be worth it to do ?
I had a question also regarding driving in rain and snow. This car is also my daily driver. I was thinking of getting the Injen cold air return and getting the cover but does that defeat the purpose.

New and fresh.
I have an LS Automatic also. I know "more" power would be nice to have, it's hard to get gains with an automatic four cylinder, especially the LS engine. It has no VTEC, better for forced induction, but your auto wouldn't be able to handle that. Intake and Exhaust systems are VERY simple to install, just do some more research and i'm sure you'll be fine. Welcome to ClubIntegra.

I was looking thru some things and I noticed the columns on hydrolock due to water in the cold air returns that are installed just below the parking light. It rains pretty good here in Maryland plus we get a little snow not like my old home in Western New york but snow. I don't want ot get radically and bend the rear end, hot drags on Saturday for pinks or have to change out engines (my next car will have the VTEC package) right now funds are limited. This car seems to have the ability to run quick gets to the 100 mark like nothing. Thanks for the welcome I have had this car less than a month now I am hooked on Honda/Acura lines

thats not true, you can do a fi on your auto just fine, you wont drop boost in between shifts, but what you cant do is set the boost too high. 8 - 10 psi on a stock motor would be fine, auto or not. but for serious power you gotta go to level10, they have all the auto tranny stuff that you would need to handle power. and changing the intake or air return as you call it is easy, no one should hassle you for changing that, and as far as the exhaust, simple as well, just do it later in the afternoon towards the night to not give anyone grief. and welcome to ci, hope you enjoy it here.
