My 1996 Acura Integra LS

So, 5 months ago I sold my EG hatch because I didn't have a license to drive it and it needed too much money put into it to repair the front end. I ended up spending those 5 months saving my money up and managed to pick this up today. It's a 1996 Acura Integra LS, 153,xxx miles, virgin (as far as I know, there are no mods), tan interior, black exterior, few dings and dents that don't bother me, runs great and it's quick, everything works, and it got pretty good gas mileage on the trip home. I don't have many pictures, because the weather and sun haven't given me much light/clear skies. Tomorrow if it's nice out, I'll take a s***load of pictures, but I'll stop boring you with text. Pics.

January 22, 2012 - The day I went to look at it.

January 24, 2012 - The day I picked it up. (Wendy's parking lot, lol)

She's a tad rough on the outside, and needs a bit of a tune-up to be perfect, but she's my new daily and I love it.

Took some more pics today.

I <3 my Honda (and the pretty dent underneath haha)

She needs a wash. Adding that to the agenda this weekend.

153,176 + 47 miles

And the pretty (dirty) B18B1

Could be the cam seals. I thought my valve cover was leaking too, but it was the cam seals. $10 felpro at AZ

So, had this car for over a month now, and noticed some things i need to get fixed. My gas mileage in the car is terrible. I'm getting less than 200 miles on a tank with city driving and a bit of highway here and there. My car isn't throwing any codes, so I'm not sure what it could be. I was thinking my O2 sensor could be failing, and there are probably other factors. I also noticed that my car rarely drives at normal operating temperature. It'll warm up when idling at a stop light for more than a minute to just below the halfway mark, then when I start driving it'll cool down a bit, and when I pick up speed it'll drop to the line, and then on the highway it'l sometimes hit C.

I was on clubcivic and some of the guys on there said it could be the coolant temperature sensor so I picked one up but haven't got the chance to replace it yet. Another person said it might be the thermostat but it's likely that the thermostat is working fine. I believe the car may be running rich too, as the spark plugs are soaked on the combustion side, however it might be oil, not gas. What makes me believe it's gas is because I am not burning oil and I don't smoke out the exhaust.

Any help would be apprecitated as I want this thing ready for East Coast Honda Meet in June, because a 5 and a half hour drive won't be practical if this car can't handle it.

Sounds like the thermostat is bad and went into fail-safe open position. Do you have pics of the plugs?. Did you change them?.

I did buy a coolant temp sensor, took it back, and just picked up a thermostat and gasket. As for the plugs, I don't think I do. I did change them because the ones that were in the car were shot to hell. The gap was all off and they were black (Carbon or ash deposits maybe?). That was like 400-500 miles ago when I replaced the plugs, and the new plugs are wet too.

Another stud broke, and it was in a bad spot so I had to take it apart. I have three broken studs, and a bent one now. I tried to attempt changing the studs, and got stuck when I couldn't get the hub off.

So any ideas? I'm thinking I'm just gonna have the guys at the shop fix it up during my inspection on Tuesday.
