mounting amps where rear seats were?

I'm planning on removing my back seats and seat cushions.
At the moment i have two amps mounted to the back of the folding seats.

What i am wondering is would it be safe to mount them the car where the seat cushions used to be?
Or is it not a good idea to be drilling there ?

Thanks.

your gas tank is right under there so IMO i wouldnt drill anything right to the metal

what i would do is make a false floor outta wood so it sits alittle higher than the highest part of where the seats would be.
attack the piece of wood with some sort of small bracket, closer to the sides. so your not close to the gas tank
cover it with black carpet and you should be set

Personally, I wouldn't remove the back seats and expose that you have a system rockin in the back. Considering the theft rate of teggies and whatever is inside of them.

What exactly is the point of removing them?

I would say keep your seats on there
It would look really...rice or just not good to have that all exposed and have amps mounted

Idk. You can keep the back seats out. If the box for the subs is big enough and covered in carpet it could look built in. Plus if you have tinted windows no one can see in.

mount them instead to the back of the rear seats-that way they are hidden, and you still have seats. if you want to just fold the seats down and they are right there
