Me and my buddy from work are going to race next summer and I was wondering what combo of mods I could possibly do to my car for under $500 to boost my horsepower.

Not a lot. intake, header, exhaust is gonna be well over that mark. Raising your budget will be crucial to make noticeable gains, imo

Zex has a $300 nitrous kit, takes an hour to install, 35 hp shot, should help

$60 for an eBay intake tube with a k&n filter, $140 for a decent header off Craigslist, $300 for that kit, $500 well spent, guaranteed to walk him if proper race car driver lol. But please, keep it at the track.
