Misfiring no check engine light

I have noticed that my car has been misfiring for awhile now. Ever since I bought the car while sitting at idle, it runs hard and when I shift into drive or reverse it either hesitates or sounds like it is going to stall out. I have no check engine light and the distributor and spark plugs are a little over 1 year old. The car seems to run hard sometimes while driving and every once and awhile it hesitates just a split second when I push on the gas. When it is cold out I have trouble starting her occasionally but it's very random, and when I do have trouble it sometimes stalls out right after.

I was thinking its either my timing is off or maybe a bad fuel pump but I'm not sure. I need some opinions.

Spark plugs should be changed every 6 months... i had the same problem including the drive/reverse (AT but still does it) with 1.5 year old sparks, coudnt WOT, felt like i was driving a POS. Your spark wires may be due for a change also. Change those first then check the other stuff, might be around $30 for spark and wires, ~$60 for the good stuff.
