misfiring and detonation

so i noticed that my car has detonation and mis fires when im low on coolant. i need a new radiator, mine leaks pretty bad and needs to be filled everyday. the car does not overheat or even reach the middle on the temp gauge, but i guess the cylinders get hotter and cause the detonation. so for all you forced induction guys; make sure you are full on coolant and your radiator works!

lol, that goes for anyone... I can't believe you let your radiatior get to the point of filling it with coolent every day! Thats horrible!!

Damn! That's really cutting it close. I always make sure all my fluid levels are in good condition. Just gotta take better care of your car.

i feel ya man. i discovered coolant leaking today while i was at work. and on my way home, the temp. gauge passed the half mark. really really not good considering the fact that ive got a fluidyne aluminum radiator. i cant figure out where the leak is comming from. everyone wish me great luck that its just a hose or something and not like the head gasket.

my car has never overheated. ever. it has gotten to the half way point maybe once. i take pretty good care of the car as far as maintenence and what not. it leaks mostly it seems at night. i top it off every morning and its fine for the day. never had issues. but i took a 2 hour trip yesterday and had to fill it after the drive. it doesnt overheat, so i guess its never been completely empty or anything, but yeah...

currently i do, but around town, i have my boost set at 5 psi and the timing backed off to 14 degrees.
