I believe on Second Gens, there is an issue with the cowl that the clips that seal it leak, allowing water down into that portion of the floorboard. If it only happens when it rains, then that is the problem, not a leaky strap.

Im sure you will find more information on what need to be fixed to correct the problem. If you cant locate it by the time I get home this evening, I will pull it up for you. I do recommend you do the searching though.

i noticed a space between the plastic cover near the lower part of the windshield. it has a few whit plastic things in sticking out of the holes. its right where the wipers rest but n the plastic things its looks like thread for screws but none were present when i purchased the car. i can stick my pinky in the space of the lower part of the windshield and the plastic cover maybe that shouldnt have a space?

i think this problem is becoming a serious one. first of all my ac fan doesnt turn on until i put it on speed 3 or 4. i believe that is the resistor. correct me if im wrong . but when i turn it on the cold air doesnt work. it use to in march . now it doest get cold . and the thing makes like a light screeching noise sometimes. it sounds like its coming from the glove area

I think some of these links share the same information. Hope this helps.

As for the fan not working until more power is sent to it at a higher setting, it could be that the moisture has led to the corrosion and rusting of the blower motor. Does it only happen when the AC button is depressed? Does it happen no matter what heat setting is selected?
