Manual Cluster swap into an Auto

Hey guys i've done some research and I found a few things but i'm gonna double check with you guys to see if you know how to swap in a manual cluster into an automatic transmission car. if you have any threads or tips on this let me know, thanks.

depending on the year of the cluster your purchasing you might half too swap out the green film but yea otherwise its a direct bolt on... Ive had USDM itr cluster and now a EDM cluster in my auto...

yeah thatswhat i figured but i wanted to make sure before i rip eveything out..may be a stupid question but what is the green film?
