Maintenance Intervals?

I know on my 07 GSX-R there's certain mileage points at where you should get certain services done. Is it the same with our cars or just fix it when it's a problem. I do all the oil changes and stuff like that but I think I have a major one coming up I'm thinking. I have a 2001 GSR and I'm at 56,000 miles. Isn't there a Tbelt and Valve Adjustment service coming up?

I usually just replace stuff as it breaks. Unless its something like a ps belt breaking then I'll replace all my belts including timing.
