In my opinion, No. The best way to make power is through a turbocharger. It will cost more, but you will make significant gains over simply putting a Vtec head (and other necessary accessories) on your LS.

As long as you get it tuned and dont beat on it, you should be fine. Mind you, a turbo does put some increased stress on the motor, (and people claim that it will cut the life of your engine in half) but in moderation and gettin a good tune will be fine and it will last many many years.

Do some research, look into the FI articles on honda-tech and team-integra.

You can buy turbo kits that are ready to bolt on to your car from greddy, peakboost (if they are still around), and maybe Synapse (but I think their kits are a bit more expensive). You can also peice your kit together, buying everything seperately from the turbo, to the intercooler, exhaust manifold, BOV, WG, engine management, etc.

This will cost you more than doing an LS/Vtec build though. If I were to estimate it, you would be looking at 800 to 1,200 for a ls/vtec and 2,000 and up for a well put together turbo build and tune.
