LS\VTEC Cost estimate..??

I just bought a 92 db1. It has a stock motor(b18a1). This summer I was Planning on getting an LS\VTEC conversion done. I want to go with the b16a ys1 transmission and a b16a head. I will have like 2k to spend. Is this conversion worth the money? Will 2k cover this conversion? If not what kind of expenses am i looking at?

Your main issue is going to be wiring that's really it vtec is 2 wires and you also need the jumper harness for your ecu other then that any bseries head will work check sportcompactcar.com they have a great write up on ls\ vtec convos

Turbo would be your best investment on the $2K in my best opinion bro. I've seen those converstions with many problems. But to do the conversion, it'll cost you $800 tranny, $600 B16 head, labor $800 motor out + $400 for other parts needed to tap and wire. You're looking at over $2K for the project and agian, turbo is your best bet over power per gains and the longtivity of the engine life.

i spend 1600 on my b20/vtec setup...i did all the work by myself, but i gained 70 crank hp, and about 25 crank ft-lbs

just buy a gsr swap. i did my ls vtec for about 1200 did all the work. and i already had the gsr head just did the bottom end. wish i wouldve just went with a new gsr block in the end. good power though.

Thanks for the advice. I was originally going to go turbo. The Turbo kit alone is like 2k. I just moved so i really don't have any hook ups on parts and i really haven't found a good shop so maybe that price will change. I guess i will have to just keep saving.
