hety sup guyz and galz...

i have a question here..... i heard people say that there a possible to use LS piston in gsr block to lower the comp. ratio. now is that possible or not... or u have to use the LS bottom end>?

if possible... what will be the comp. ratio be? or is it juz best juz to buy piston that is meant to be use for?

I don't think the LS pistons will work with the GSR rods because of the wrist pins, when you put gsr pistons on LS rods don't you have to have the rods milled bigger to fit the gsr wrist pins.

now is that using the ls piston only or using the ls piston, rod, andcrank? thanks
Well according to the calculater thats using the LS piston in a gsr block with a gsr head, You can't use an LS crank or rods in a gsr block so I'm assuming it would be with just the piston like it said. Did you use the calculater at all. Maybe you can piece something togheter with a more suitable comp. Or something that will fit better with your gsr rods.

you have to get the wrist pins pressed. what will not work tho is the rod and crank. the stroke is different.

i understand that but aren,t the ls wrist pins smaller which means they would have to enlarge them to work with the gsr rods (which i think is impossible) someone correct this if wrong.

not sure about that but i know it can be done opposite. people put 2g eclipse turbo pistons into 1g turbo cars because it up the C/R from 7.9:1 to 8.5:1. they 1g cars have to have the small end of the rod bored out to except the larger pin of the 2g piston. not sure how safe it would be to bore out a piston and press in a bigger pin, but i've seen it done opposite of that many times with no problems

Thats what I'm saying, I think you would have to bore out the piston to fit the wrist pin. I don't know how safe that would be either. I bored out my LS rods to fit my type r pistons so I know it works that way but I've never heard of anyone doing it opposite than that.

hey... thankz for ur help.... so i figuure no one have ever try to do this b4.? hhhmmm... maybe i will try to look into it more but my concern is that if have to be bore to make it fit.. then i figure it wont be as safe... but if using stock piston.... should it fit? ... well... is it possible?? is it worth it? or its juz be lot eaiser juz to get after market piston to boost it? thankz
