louder motor than exhaust

okay so some of you may know that i done the head gasket job my self.

i put it in the shop to get the timing done and a couple other lil things. anyways i go to get my car after work today and when the guy starts it it acts like theres no oil in it and the motor whines really loud louder than the exhaust (straight pipe) and its knocking like shit not to mention the motor shakes so bad i can see the motor mounts ripping almost.

any ideas as to what this idiot done to my car? even after the gasket blew it still ran fine had to drive it to a store less than half a mile down the road to park it but it never overheated.

the guy was spose to fix that. that what i put it in the shop for. but im going back there tomorrow cause it needs a battery to that i have to go get. but anything else you could think of that i can run by him see what he says.

not when it went in the shop but i dont know i was so pissed that i told him ill be back tomorrow and left with out saying anything. i know he replaced the timing belt tensioner and another pully that was locked up. but theres no way that i done that to the motor. when i put it back together i started it once it ran shook and turned off. then i had it towed to him. i took the head to a machine shop with the cams and they had three ppl look at them and they were all fine. nothing was wrong. so i know the guy had to do something.

well double check to see if the timing is right before you take it to the shop.

oh my bad.. im really tired and didnt pay attention lol... my guess is the timing is off...youll just have to wait and see tomorrow when you go pick up your car. Check and see if any cel codes pop up too.. hopefully theyll have it fixed and running perfectly when you go pick it up..

im guna ask him if he put everything at TDC where its spose to be. but i dont have a code checker ill have to get it from my uncle.

FYI there is no code reader fr a 90-91 DA... you pull codes from the ECU directly.How you do that is you pull back the passener floorpan carpet to expose the kickplate underneath. It is gold colored & has a small round glass window at the top center.

if you look through the hole you will see a blinking red LED that indicates a trouble code ( if it is even blinking)

codes are read by counting long blinks then counting short blinks.

so --... would be 23 as an example -....... would be 17 and so on.

well turns out its got bent valves and needed the rocker adjusted so its not knocking anymore just needs new valves and probly head machined.

why did you need to change the headgasket? did your timing belt snap or something? cuz that could possibly be why you have a bent valve.
