Loud... Something??

So I recently let my car's gas level get near "E" and the light came on. I filled it about half way. Now when I come to a stop I can hear the fuel pump hissing. Sounds kind of like an intake on a d-series motor, but lower. Seems like if I stop harder, the gas in the tank is causing the sound to stop and go when the gas swishes around. Hard to explain, but I'm sure someone on here knows what I'm sayin!!

i could hear my gas tank swishing around and my fuel pump buzzing/hissing.. but thats because im gutted..

its prolly trying to pressurize the fuel tank because you didnt fill it up all the way when it was on E.. :what:

of your pump is making noise because u ran it to low and it is starting to fail..

Fuel keeps the pump lubricated.. when u run out of gas u starve the pump and dry the internals out.. this can cause the pump to fail..

looks like u may need a new fuel pump soon.

and sucks for you becuase i think for your gen you have to drop the tank to get to it :/

yup.

Just replaced it about half a year ago. I have it about 75% filled right now and you can't hear it as much. I also have my car gutted from the front seats back, so that's why I can hear it a lot better lol
