I drive a chevy cobalt. My friend is selling his old acura integra for $500, its a 1995 with the b18 engine. It has 200000 plus miles on it. He also says it has a cooling problem. What else should I look for if I choose to buy this car? Thanks..

Check if it runs. Check and see if it has a blown head gasket. If anything. Like the guy said, buy it and part out. You could bank mad profit.

500 sounds fishy.

All Integra's have a B18 engine, btw. GSR's have a B18C1, all non-GSR's have a B18B. Your friend must be selling a non GSR for that price.
Cracked radiators are a semi common problem with 3rd Gen Teg's, so it could just be that. That's not a real expensive or difficult fix. Or maybe it just has a stuck thermostat, an even easier and hella cheap fix.

Check the oil and see if water is mixed with it. Check how it idles, if it runs, check if it shifts proper. If its auto than its all good. If its stick, check if it has an ok clutch

^ ^ what he said, If you dont know how to do this stuff just take it to a trustworthy mechanic. It shouldnt cost much at all to have it checked out. I had my mechanic look over my jeep before i bought it and it cost around 50 bucks

he drives it everyday, like still does, he bought a new vw gti and needs to get rid of this so yes it runs, shifts, all that, he said it will over heat if its idling like in traffic for too long, he suggests a coolant flush and oil change, here are pics

thats right.
definately not gonna be the prettiest thing on the street but i say u buy it, even if it only lasts for another 3 months it'll be worth the 500

well I did end up picking up this car. Gotta put in a new radio, change the oil, flush the cooling system, replace the steering wheel, fix the dashboard lights, wire up the coolant gauge, then it might be good to go. Question, does anyone make aftermarket cams or a short throw shifter?

before you start buying performance parts make sure the car is going to run a while...no point in buying cams or a short shifter if the car is going to blow up
