license plate black out...

Yeah, dumb question, but I have noticed that in most pictures of everybody's teg the license plate is either scrambled to the point where you cant read it, or they are just totally blacked out...since everyone does this there has to be some reason for it, but what is that reason? And should i do this in my pictures also?

Shit I flash mine with pride because its personalized and it makes fun of ppl making fun of Hondas, fuck it if they want your car they will find you no matter what. I've never been followed home by anyone and they still got me at my house and my friends house.
