Leaking trunk

can somebody please tell me why it is that this 2nd Gen cars have leaking hatches.?!
my LS and my GS both leak.
the weather stripping looks fine. both have water pools on the sides of the spare tire area, after it rains. soaks my carpet and is ruing my speaker box. doesn't seem to matter how hard the rain either.
very inconvenient.

i don't know entirely too much about 2nd gens but on my 3rd gen it was my tail light gaskets that were causing a leak in my trunk.

Check the tail light gaskets and the sunroof drainage tubes.

If neither of those fix the issue, take out your interior trunk paneling, dry everything up, close the hatch, and spray it down with a hose. That way you will be able to better localize the leak.

hmm... tail light gaskets.... didn't think of that. the leaks are at those corners.

i've moved the panels before and noticed the drain tubes for the moonroof. i thought it was they that
perpetraded the leaks but ... no. guess its down to the taillights.

id say either tail lights or sunroof drain.

just because the weather stipping looks good doesnt mean it is. think about how old your car is. make sure it is actually making a good seal all the way around and its not torn

ya that rubber weather strip that goes around the hatch can get some pretty bad weather cracks so its sometimes agood idea to replace that same with the tail light gaskets

x2 for spraying it down with water, my passenger side door was leaking but none of the seals looked bad, but from so many years of the window siting against the seal it formed to the window and allowed water to come in. i sprayed it with a hose and found the leak and just ran to a junkyard and got new window seals

Does it have a sun roof? The water drian tubes from the sun roof run down to the sides of the trunk and are suppose to drian outside of the car. but your DA is old and the tubes have disconnected from the ouside port and are drianing into the trunk. Check which side of the trunk is wet, for that will be the side you'll have to take apart to repair the problem. Take off the trunk/ rear seat side panels and you will find each tube inside the body below the rear speakers. Take each tube, push them back into the outside drain port and duck tape it together. Thats the best you can do. Trust me, my own DA had the same problem, doesn't do it any more after I did that. Lets just hope the tubes aren't torn

engine swap

i have a 91 integra that im putting a type r engine in w/ECU. Do i have to do any mods to make my car OBD2 compadable? Or when i install the engine and ECU will it work fine? Any help would be much appriciated, thank you.

i have the same prob. i had to buy some blk silicone and put in the gaps between the tail lights and trunk and body of the car and it fixed my problem

do you have a windshield wiper in the rear or did you do a delete? if you did and used a plug make sure the seal around that is good. Mine was leaking so i put some rtv sealant on it and now it's leak free.

can anyone tell me when i put my Type R motor &ECU in do I have to do any other mods to make my 91 OBD 2 compatable... or will it just work fine because the new computer. PLEASE HELP... i got a 91 by thw way
