Konichiwa from Socal

Hi,

Just joined this site a few days ago. I've been familiar with the DC2 for quite some time. I had a 95' DC2 and drove it for 3 years. The previous owner hit a tree so it had some alignment issues, but got me from point A to B all the time, roughly 400 mi. per tank.

I then sold the car and bought a GD3 (Fit) and put all kinds of J's Racing goods on it. The vehicle was salvaged last month due to an accident.

I got a good deal for a 00' DC4, so I'm back to square one with the same car, color, but a new chassis.

Any meets in Socal?

Planned mods -

Spoon N1 exhaust
Personal wheel w/quick release
Buddy Club control arms
Type R f/r sway bars
JDM fog lights
carbon hood
Spoon style front lip?

Right now -

Buddy Club P-1 wheels w/15" Falkens
J's Racing lug nuts
Spoon duracon knob
Raybrig lights
JDM ricer stickers on the body and glass
J's Racing f/r strut bars + c-pillar bar

That's interesting. My 95' LS had a DC2 VIN number but a non-VTEC motor. This might seem strange, but my 2000 DC4 (3 door coupe) is heavier than my 95 LS. They improved some things - front/rear sway bars, different suspension setup, and rear disc brakes, but the lighting is still poor.

front impact? if so the motor was probably ruined too so whoever fixed it put the LS motor in. DC2s are all VTEC powered from factory.

I was the third owner of this car. I personally knew the second owner (family member). It had a DC2 designation in the VIN - I swear it.

Then again, does it matter? Everyone can convert their DC2/DC4 into a Type R. Just do a swap and your done. Maybe if I still have the DC4 for another 80K, I will do it. I was really hoping to buy an AP2 after the accident, but wanted to wait for the FT-86 later this year.

I'll post pics tomorrow after I purchase some J's stuff. I ordered the Verno banner and some other decals. Waiting to get the front/rear strut bars from Japan.

From my search on Honda-tech, not too many people have these bars. I was considering M&M, but it was too much of a hassle to order and the exchange rates are not good for us dollar holders.

I still need to get the underbraces from Tanabe as well as the rear lower arm bar.

Welcome to CI. Im Jordan. :hi:
Im pancho. also in socal
Yo! Nice to meet you both.

its not just the motor to make it into a DC2. its the chassis and suspension parts as well. if an LS came out the factory as a DC4 and you do everything to make it into a proper DC2, its still a DC4... with a swap.
