Ok I have 97 gsr that I'm restoring from garbage that the previous owner didn't take care of. Everything is almost up to par but running into problems everyday, the first is when I'm slowing down (doesn't matter from what speed) I get this knocking noise, which sounds like its coming from the driver side once I apply the brake.
2nd after letting the car warm and start driving about 3 or 4 miles the car says its over heating, so I pull over let it cool down try to apply water but only like 8 or 10 oz is missing wich I look over and see coolant in ther resevoir. I asked a buddy of mine he saying the worst case scenario is head gasket or maybe coolant temp sensor which also make the car run like crap, please someone help starting to lose hope please enlighten me!

Have you replaced the thermostat and monitor the fans to make sure they are turning on when they are suppressed to. If you are unsure if they work, run a direct power and negative to your battery and if either one isnt turning on or turning slow then theres one problem to take care of. Start with simple things first. The knocking, I wouldn't know. Gl man, I'm doing the same thing, bought a 95 gsr wrecked from a friend, took almost a year to get it out of the body shop and now I have to take care of all kinds of oil leaks, throw out bearing, axles, you name it. So I'm just doing a major over haul on things. All for love. Haha!
