hello all, i've been a lurker for about a week now and decided i'd register.

my name is rich, i'm from Toms River NJ, aka "the shore" i'm happily married with a 4 month old son :)

i traded my 300zx for the integra and some cash. the Z needed a new motor and paint job- but came with a TON of new parts new in box! the trade was VERY fair on both sides.

i also have a 94 dakota MarkIII edition i bought april 1, 2009 with 89k miles, she now has just over 100k. my wife drives a 06 saturn ion as our "family car"

i know every forum LOVES pictures, and over on the dakota forum i'm known as the "picture nazi" so here's some pictures:

saturn: (15% tint, SSR integrals, pioneer double din DVD)

dakota (15% tint, ported/polished throttle body, underdrive pulley, intake, exhaust, stereo system)

and lastly, the integra (intake, header, full exhaust- no cat, stage 3 6puck clutch, 11lb chromoly flywheel, tokico struts/lowering springs, and some suspension braces)

before i detailed her:

i will take more pictures today, as most of the pictures i took are of how shiny the paint is. i took the pictures to use for my advertising of my detailing side business i'm trying to start.

the Z (too much to list)

Welcome to Club Integra :welcome:. Do you have any plans for the integra? You're going to save a lot more gas than you are if you had kept that monster fairlady xD

i ordered the clutch/flywheel this past monday. and my wife ordered the suspension braces sunday night. when the braces come in i'll be painting them (color undecided) and then installing. when i install the clutch/flywheel i'll also be installing the greddy header.

as for plans:

i'd like to do a GSR swap and keep it very simple and reliable. i'm trying to work out a deal with my buddy for his DC2 skunk2 coilovers so i can lower it a bit more. i also plan to pick up some updated stock honda/acura wheels. i really can't stand the ones on the car now, i found someone with delsol wheels for under 200$ with good tires, so i'm thinking of picking them up but i'm not certain yet.

more about the car-
154k miles on it, slipping clutch, pretty MINT interior, missing some clips for rear hatch plastic, 3 different kinds of tire tread so the ride was VERY horrible- but i fixed that already. the tint has faded and is turning purple- so that shit has to come off eventually and get re-tinted.

the Z got pretty good gas mileage actually. my truck on the other hand, i'm LUCKY to see 15mpg :( and now that i've begun modding it'll go down to like 13-14 around town.

i already put almost 500 miles on the DA since saturday when i registered it! i took a 260 mile round trip on the parkway doing 80-85 so i was sitting at like 4200rpms in 5th, and i got 29.8 MPG. next week i'm making a trip to PA and i'll be doing 55-60 so im sure i'll be able to pull 32-33mpg no problem. i wont lie, i'm loving it. i just miss the torque from the Z, but i still have my truck- and that's a torque BEAST

thank you.

as you can see i've already done quite a bit:
2 hours cleaning engine bay (will get a better cleaning when i do the clutch)
2 hours cleaning the interior (still need to clean windows)
1 hour to clean the wheels/tires
1 hour to wash the car
2 hours claybar
2 hours waxing

so i have 10 hours just in cleaning so far in less than a week :)

i need to do something about the white hood. i'm thinking of getting it wrapped in matte black, but i'm not too sure yet, so it's staying white for now, as it's not a priority on my list.

Thanks man.

I wash the Saturn once a week, my truck every two, and the the teg will get a bath every 10 days most likely. I have to keep wifes car looking fresh so we can get top dollar when we ge rid of it.

I'm thinking of doing a MINOR wiretuck on the teg, not too sure yet though.

The white hood is killing me, but it's gotta stay for the time being. I wish I could convince wife to let me rock the SSR wheels, but I'm not having any luck haha even though she made fun of me for wanting to snag them for her car. "who tries to hook up an ION, you're nuts" soon as I put them on, she goes "omfg I know I married you for a reason thank you" the reason I even got them was because the car needed two tires, and I got a KILLER deal on the wheels with almost new falken tires. Paid less than COST of what the tires go for. And it totally changed the look and the car handles so much better since the stock wheels are like 3" into the wheel well!

You know a man takes care of his car when his under bonnet is clean ;) I try to clean mine every other wash.

The car is looking good after your cleaning, I would say you brought that paint back to life. The Del Sol wheels you are probably looking at look very similar to 94-97 GSR wheels. I would suggest looking for some LS meshies, as I think they look amazing on DA's.

Unfortunately these are painted, but you can see what im talking about

You wouldn't believe what I used, but the local dollar store has THE BEST wheel cleaner I have ever used. My wife picked me up two bottles for Easter. I sprayed the hell out of the hood, and used a washcloth to break it all loose, then sprayed it off with a hose. I repeated that about 3 times before I let it dry off, grabbed new cloth, and did a final cleaning. World of a differance!

I'm trying not to dump alot of money on "un-needed things- such as wheels. But 160$ for 4 wheels and tires is a pretty good deal. Dropping 400-500 on stock wheels is just ridiculous, and I can't justify it right now. If I were in the market for tires, and found a set of stockers with good meaty tires- then yes I would spring for that. But even then I'd be hesitant, I get tires at cost. For example I paid 260$ for 4 tires for my truck, retail was 520$ mounted and balanced. And being how I got discontinued Ssr integrals with falken tires for 350$, spending more than that for stockers isn't reasonable in my eyes. I'm not cheap by anymeans, I tend to find awesome deals, and spoil myself with waiting forever for a good deal :)

Well I just spent 3 hours cleaning the teg some more!

Removed all the rear plastics from the hatch to the doors, removed rear seat. Reason being was to install rear seatbelts properly, and clean the backside of the plastics, and dirt build up behind them.

I found a gram of pot in a bag. That makes two grams I found! One was shake under driver and passenger seat, and one was a bag of buds behind one of the pannels by rear seat.

I also found this VERY odd sticker behind the pannel under the 1/4 window on driverside.
