When I'm drivin' I can hear what sounds like a squeaky belt/bearings comin' from my cluster area... I'm thinkin' it has 2 do with where the speedo cable goes into the cluster!?! It happens when I start 2 move n it doesn't stop til I come 2 a stop..

Also, the shifter(5spd) is very "stiff"! As in when I shift from one gear to another it goes in hard.. It doesn't grind at all. It's even sorta stiff in neutral...

Any ideas on these matters would be helpful.

Thanx

The noise is almost surely your speedo cable. The grease dries up, the cable squeaks, and the sound conducts up to the cluster, sounding like a stuck brake caliper, dry wheel bearing, etc.. Mine's noisy as hell; just haven't gotten around to replacing it. Disconnect the cable at the transmission and see if it goes away.

No real ideas about the hard shift issue, but you might try draining and refilling the trans fluid. The shift bushings may have recently been replaced, and not broken in yet. If it's shifting without grinding, that's a good thing. Good luck with it.

I just fixed the same problem with mine. you have to disconnect the speedo from the tranny thats the easy part just a clip that holds it in. Then take your cluster out and disconnect the speedo cable from it. then you can take the cable out from the transmission end and regrease it and put it all back together. no more sound. took me about 30 min. http://www.team-integra.net/forum/19-projects-diy-article-talk/202568-diy-g2-gauge-cluster-led.html
You can use this link to see how to take out the cluster. One word of advice do not pull on the cluster to get it out you will break the clip that hold the cable to the cluster. You have to push the speedo cable into the fire wall from the engine compartment, I had some help with that as I was pushing it in someone was guiding the cluster out. Just push it in far enough to get access to the clip. its not that hard and after you will have a working speedo with no squeek.

I forgot one thing that the link dosent show is taking your switches out of the dash, use a small flat screw driver to gently pry from the bottom of the switch and it will come out. I had an empty spot on both sides so I took them out first and put my finger in and pushed on the switch from the back while I pried with the screw driver, they come out but be gentle or you will break them.
