Is it worth buying this?

Is it worth getting a 98 spec type R 4.7 Final Drive into my gsr tranny? a friend told me to get it but he didnt explained me why!
I kind newbie on this but what will this thing do to my gsr tranny or how this will help me in performance?

all its gonna do is make you gear ratios shorter so your going to accel faster. and make your engine drive higher in the rpm range when your just crusing. i wouldnt do it. i would just get a whole type-r trans if thats what you want. and if you can afford that
