Bondo is not a dent repairer, it is a body panel filler. If should not be laid on more than about 1/16" thick (it will say it on the tub).

So if your dent is large, you need to hammer it out (or use a dent puller) and get it as smooth as possible. Then you lay on a thin layer of bondo to even things out and sand it smooth.

Do you have a picture of your dent?

I thought it was 1/8th. Regardless your right. It's not a dent filler, the dent should be hammered out or pulled out as much as possible. It will look good if you do it right, it might take a few times to get it looking good. Follow the instructions on the can of bondo and you'll be fine.

As for fiberglass, not sure I've ever seen that used to fix a dent.

I didnt know the actual thickness, so I mentioned it would say on the can it comes in. I could be wrong, but it certainly isnt anything like 1/2" or thicker.

Some people actually modify body kits with bondo, and since its not meant to be for that, it falls apart eventually.

Jason you should see some of the shit I've done with bondo. :D
I've patched a hole the size of my fist with bondo and duct tape. Lol.

Oddly enough it still holds up. (It's been at least four years.)
Good ol' bondo. It's the next best thing to actually repairing body panels. ;)

Dude, just knock it out or get a professional to pop it out. Don't bondo your shit up. Google dent repair. U could even find someone mobile to come to you! Trust me they are out there.Bondo is pricey. Good bondo atleast. And it will eat up a lot of ur time... I do body work. Save ur time and money and do it correctly as much as possible :)

Sophie if you did body work then you should be agreeing with Jason. It's not a dent filler, it's a body filler. I can't think of any body shop that does repairs that do not use body fillers. Chances are any body work will require it to be perfect, but like Jason also said the maximum thickness is 1/16 ( or 1/8th ).

It's not hard to do the bondo, but to paint the area afterwards you might take it to a body shop.
I guess it all just depends how big the dent really is. I assume it's a pretty good dent or why bother?

THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICTURES! Haha.

bondo is bad

stay away from bondo. use everslass for the bass and rage brand after that. through my experience bondo is not good for a body filler. if you need tips on this just hit me up
