I have a 99 Japan Type R swap in my 96 U.S. LS. My ECU at emissions didn't have a link. I was told that it was probably my Japan ECU. Can I take my LS ECU and install it to pass emissions? Or, do I need to buy a P73 ECU U.S. IF so anyone have a U.S. P73 ECU they would like to sell.

Well for one your 96 ls ecu is an OBD2A along with all your wiring I would suspect, but since your motor is an OBD2B you're gonna run into problems. I would recommend gettin a obd2B gsr p72 or if you got the luck and cash get the obd2b type R P73. Those two should make your motor run smooth

I have all the new wiring installed, and a JAPANESE OBD2B computer..... None of the OBD2 scanners are reading the ECU. This is why I failed my emissions. I need to know if I will fry my LS computer if I hook it up to the Type R Motor (just for a few min.) to pass inspection!
