I was wondering if anyone can explain the easiest the way to do this as i'm a rookie on my Integra.

I read on Autozones install manuals you take out the back seat but have a Haynes manual that says to lower the fuel tank..

Any help is greatly appreciated..:D

take out the lower part of the back seat. it's right underneath that.

You'll see it in gutted tegs. there's a big silver thing with lines coming out of it... thta's your stuff for the fuel pump. There's no need to drop your tank.

I'm actually getting a couple drops of gas on my garage floor every night. After extensive "under the car work," I come to realize the fuel pump is underneath the backseat... 8)

I know this is a old thread, but I just had the liberty of replacing my fuel pump on my 92 GSR after failing at a gas station when I was on my lunch break from work. I did this sucker on the ground, at the station. YOU MUST DROP THE TANK on these cars to replace the pump. First, spray the 2 tank strap bolt/nuts with wd40 and remove the fuel tank drain bolt (17mm bolt on drivers side rear of tank) then move to the next step. Remove the rear lower seat cushion. One 10mm bolt in the center of the rear seat where the top cushions meet the seat bottoms. Remove and pull seat up and out to remove. The access door under the seat only allows you to disconnect the wiring harness from the sending unit/pump harness. 3 phillips head screws. Then you need to disconnect the fill tube. There is a clamp on the filler pipe. Loosen the clamp. 10mm here. Then remove the 3 bolts holding the fuel pipe cover/protector, again 10mm. Pop the 2 black clips off protector. Remove. Disconnect vent tube hose from filler pipe neck. Squeeze clamp to remove. Now the fun part.......(2) 12mm nuts on the tank straps. Loosen them. The tank will slowly drop. Support the tank with your scissor jack. Remove the nuts completely. Lower jack till you can reach the banjo bolt on the main fuel feed line. Big nut on top. 19mm here. Loosen the bolt to prevent the feed line from pinching/bending when you lower the tank down all the way. Now lower jack and support the tank with your arm till its on the ground. Remove the feed line and return line. Return line uses squeeze clamp. Remove the (6) 10mm nuts off the top of the pump. Pull the pump out of the tank. Reverse order for install. REPLACE ALL CRUSH WASHERS!!!!!! Tighten all bolts SNUG + a 1/4 turn.

Start car. Check lines for leaks.
Reinstall fuel pipe protector after you confirm no leaks.
Go rip that mo-fo and enjoy your pump job!

you need to drop the tank in order to change it ...the one under your back seat is the fuel sending unit (float) you need to drop the tank once you do youll see another cap similar to the one under the seat.. suggestion- make sue tank dosnt have alot of gas in it so its easier to put back up

started my tear down today, can hear the relay click under the dash but the fuel pump doesnt prime, im pulling the tank/pump out today and either replacing or cleaning and repairing the current one. It has sat for about 8 months due to me losing my license racing in the streets. It was tooling along fine yesterday but the engine just died out of nowhere at about 40 mph and now it will turn over but not start.
