How do I do that? And what exactly does it mean to bleed? Also, my rear defroster isnt working so i was wondering if you knew what would be wrong. I checked the fuses and they are all good. I appreciate the help

i just changed the thermostat on my DA

1. buy a new thermostat and new thermostat gasket.
2. disconnect the lower radiator hose where it connects to the block.
3. unscrew the 3 bolts holding on the Tstat cover
4. pull out the thermostat (NOTICE HOW IT IS POSITIONED)
5. put new one in with new gasket (with jiggle pin up, you shouldn't be able to put it in backwards as it wont fit. just remember the position of the old one when you pulled it out)
6. bolt on the Tstat cover (should be 108 in/lb - notice that is INCHES. snug but dont over tighten it, easy to strip)
7. connect lower radiator hoses.
8. bleed coolant system

get a Haynes/Helms manual.. I changed my clutch myself, tstat, new rad, fixed every problem i have ever had and learned a lot about honda's by getting in there and doing the work myself with the manual as my guide.

to bleed coolant system...

there is a 12mm bolt on the housing where the upper radiator hose is connected to at the block. it has a little nipple in it and should be bronze color. loosen that bolt. fill antifreeze in your radiator at the radiator cap until it flows out of that nipple (in a steady stream, after the bubbles stop). tighten the bolt and you you should be good.
