First of all i would to start of by saying that this is my first post. With that being said I got a 93 Teg with of course a b18a1. Now i've been bored with how my teg runs and want to make into a nice performance car but by no means im going to put it on the track neither is it going to be a weekend warrior. I just want a nice good looking running car. Now i've been doing research for about a good 8 months and heres where i need help. People tell me to do a swap others to go ls vtec and others to go ls turbo. dont want to do turbo, soo obviously the other 2 apply. In the long run which would ultimatly make more power B16, GSR or LS Vtec. I know budget also comes into play but i want to hear what would create the best power for my dollar. Thank you in advance for your opinions

ls vtec would be cheapest, but if you have the money id just go full b18c1 swap

what is your budget? because a type r motor might be another option

if you go ls/v id use a b16 head, they flow a lot better

Ls vtec is a great motor as long as you take your time and make sure it is built right. Do a half ass job on a ls vtec and you will have a half ass motor that will not last, you are now out of the money you put in. I would say on a semi tight budget go GSR (b18c1). This is a good all around motor and does well with bolt ons ect. I would also find a 92-93 gsr ys1 or a b16 cable trans, this will give you the best acceleration. Then mabe down the road look into cams and a good tune. Just my two cents

good luck with your swap,

Kris

So this car is your daily? If so I suggest buying a whole seperate engine and build it so you can still drive your car. If it's not your daily, you can pull the engine and build it up as it is (your head is not very free flowing). Or you can put a b20 head on there (the b20 from the celsior i believe is how it's spelt) which is one of the least restrictive b series heads. Or you can go lsv and use a gsr, type r, or b16 head. Or you could scrap your b18a1 and opt for a whole new b16, gsr, or type r.

So not a whole lot of my opinion in there but we need more details first, whats your budget? Is this your daily? Are you mechanically inclined and doing this yourself? Do you not know much about cars and THINK you are doing this yourself? Are you having a shop do it?

And also WELCOME TO CI! :)
