Import Legality Petition

If it were a topic I cared about I might sign the petition. I don't feel it necessary to make an account just to sign a petition.

It's kind of interesting how it says they spend a lot doing this- but they make no mention of the number spent.

Well use a B.S email then. I have an email account I only use for stuff like this. Took about 5 mins to do. I don't plan on importing any cars in the future but hey it helps the industry out lol

It's not like I have a problem with the government having my e-mail or something- it's just that I don't want to take the time to actually register. That's five minutes of my life I could spend looking at Facebook, lol.

Sign in, create an account, sign in, create an account, sign in, create an account - OH FUCK IT!
Stupid fucking process; they know I only have 30 seconds of focus before I get bored and do something else. Good luck, doubt it will change things though

I highly doubt that this will change, no matter how many signatures there are

The reason that the US does not allow importing cars is because of the way the US auto safety laws are. Someone cant just say "Ok everyone can buy a car from where ever they want now" - they would have to change most of the safety regulations. For example: one has to do with airbags.....in the US airbags must meet regulations for passengers with and without their seat belts on, this requires that the airbags are larger and more powerful. in every other country in the world the airbags only have to meet regulations for passengers with a seat belt on, so the airbags are smaller and less powerful.
Until the US changes these laws about the safety requirements (which wont happen) the importing laws will stay the same

Good to see the youth is involved in government.
I'm sure there are the older guys setting this up and really getting involved. I don't think signing a petition is "getting involved." Especially because most of the people that sign probably don't know what kind of regulations that there are now. I'm sure people will see this and think "Oh, I want RHD cars to be easier to get, i'll sign."

Regardless, I don't like RHD cars. The only thing that actually interested me about this is that HOMELAND SECURITY was responsible for these things. It makes me wonder how much money they're actually using on it. Not that it really matters to me one way or another, it's not like we're going to get bombed because they spent x amount of money recovering this car, or stopping this car from coming into the country. It's just interesting to know.
