ignition key wont turn!

ok so like the title says the key in my car wont turn at all. I put it in the air to work on a trans issue and now that it is back together i can not get the key to turn. it is almost like it is locked like when the wheel is turned but i can wiggle the wheel back and forth and nothing happens. any ideas? also if anyone is intrested in an integra let me know cause once i fix this it is up for sale. but i will put that in the fs section later

You may have just locked your wheel all you need to do is turn the wheel a little bit pretty much all you can and the try turning the key and it should feel a little funny but then it will turn and the wheel will become moveable again.

Like greenteggy said, if you are only able to move the steering wheel a little bit, then the lock is engaged. You need to turn it all the way to one side and turn the key to disengage it.

"it is almost like it is locked like when the wheel is turned but i can wiggle the wheel back and forth and nothing happens." i am turning the wheel so hard that i am contorting the steering column. and it wont let me turn the key. is there anyway that that system that locks everything is jammed some how? how would i disconnect that? also i just noticed my wheels are dead striaght and the wheel is about a 1/4 turn off center could this have something to do with it?

could be the key, is it an old key?

yea spray some wd40 in it.

no definatly not the key. it is the orrigional but in good shape no signs of abuse or overly worn

this happened to me before. my original key LOOKED in good shape but once i used my copy, it worked.

same thing happened to my buddy. steering column locked up real bad, not the usualy lock-up type deal. my pops removed the ignition and the steering wheel was free again. after that he sprayed some wd-40. never got stuck again

cool thanks for the help i will make a copy today at work and if that doesnt fix it i will pull the ignition. ill post which one fixes it incase this happens to any one else
