Alright guys, im new to the honda/acura game..i drive a 06 eclipse but as of last week i bought a little project car...a 93 blue ls with 17 inch konigs and a stage 2 clutch...bought for only 960 bucks lol. The past few days I have spent trying to fix my idling problem...friends and myself have taken off the iacv and the fitv valve and cleaned and tightened up the fitv valve...i heard that was supposed to fix it..but it hasn't...still idling HIGH like...2500 or higher...what else could it be...and if its a vacuum leak wats the best/safest way to find it and fix it..?? Also one more thing..i just bought new motor mounts, the complete set...how difficult is it to replace all the motor mounts? and is there anything else i should know??? Any help would be appreciated guys...

Inside the FITV there is a plastic sort of bolt that you can screw. If you screw it in all the way, your idle will be higher, try playing with it. Unscrew it a lil bit more and see if you idle drops. I also heard of ppl who use a smoke machine to find vaccum leaks.

If it's idling to high there is a screw on your throttle body that will adjust it. Right above it? I can't really picture it in my head right now lol.

If you had a vacuum leak I think your idle would be surging. (Going up and down.)

x2, if you have a vaccum leak your idle will be bouncing up n down.

When the car is cold take off the intake from the throttle body. There are two holes The bottem hole fitv.while car is warming up it should be sucking air use your finger to check it. When the car is fully warm it will stop sucking air completely. If it is clean it or replace it or try bleeding coolant.
Next the upper hole sucks air after the fitv stops. It's the iacv. Cover this car will stall if not you have a vacume leak

I have a picture of the IACV in my head gasket how to thread. I believe I have "It's a good time to clean this." next to the picture.
It's on the back of the intake manifold. Two small coolant hoses go to it. The FITV is on the opposite side of the throttlebody. Kind of under the intake.

LOL...Wow kind of odd how this was posted when I just got done taking out my IACV and cleaning it about 30 minutes ago and still sitting here next to me air drying...with the pictures its very easy to take it off...two screws and two tubes and your done. I'm cleaning my out with simple green cleaning solution. Now its almost time to install it back.

my car had the same problem with the idle bouncing i was told to clean my iacv so i cleaned that it was still doing it so i messed with the screw on the throttle body still did it so i said screw it and replaced the iacv and it stopped doing it so your iacv might have went out like mine did i'd suggest replacing it.

The idle isn't mean to be adjusted by the screw on throttle body.

When you're car is on, unplug the iacv. If it drops down low that your iacv is NOT faulty. It can be dirty, bu it's not broken.

Clean your fitv and iacv. Be sure to screw the plastic piece all the way IN. Use a small flat head. You'll have to push down while you turn since it has the spring pushing against it.
