I have a 1990 Integra GS....when I first crank it, it idles around 3,000 and when it warms up it surges between 1,000 and 1,500. It is really getting on my nerves so can someone please help because I have no idea what it is. The check engine light also comes on when you drive it for a minute.

map sensor controles most of that idile probes also theres a brass screw on the throtlle body intake pipe side top left next to the vacume line that goers to the canister tighten the srew for less idle remember dont adjust it until its at operating temp. hope this fixes your problem by the way i have an extra map if you would like to buy it they go for about 300 new

This thread hurts my head. Op your problem is you fitv needs to be cleaned/tightened or replaced.
Map sensor has nothing to do with idle. The map sensor senses vacuum in the intake manifold. The iacv does have something to do with idle but won't cause the hunting idle.

It's funny the second post is a link to every answer or scenario u can think of yet the only thing people can say is "I have the same problem"
.....maybe you should all try out the link lol..
