idle jumping

so i recently got this prob. when i start up my teg. it jumps to 3k rpms and stays unless i hit the gas. then it jumps from normal idle to about 3k rpms and constant up and down up and down. almost like a vacum leak. anyone ever have this prob? but drives perfectly fine.

you check your idle control valve? you should clean it.
