I Need Some Serious Help With This Decision!

So I have a 99 gs with 89000 miles on it. I blew the head gasket last week and now, for my graduation present i have been given two different options to get back on the road.

1.) I can go ls/v with a new built head and get all the maintenance that the car is scheduled for any way. (oil pump, water pump, timing belt). But then the money well is officially dry. Anymore problems, and i'm boned.

2.) Get the bare minimum amount of maintenance done to get it running, and sell the car. I get a new civic si lease. But it is a lease! I can do NOTHING to the car for the full 3 years.

Please help me choose!!!

thats the only options? i like #1 but not having any money left is a problem. at the end of the lease you have to turn it in or buy it.

its not my money. its my graduation present. if i had my choice that's exactly what i would do.
so your parents want to pay money for a car they're never going to own, and you are never going to own? lol sounds like a plan

Personally I would get a replacement LS motor and drop it in.

If you won't have any money saved I would NOT go lsv.

actually has an FB6 now.
ask if your parents would buy you a GSR motor instead of LSvtec. hahaha.

i would rather go with option 1, but still...having no money left after an LSvtec build = trouble.

but it is won't be a shit ls/v job. it would be done by a huge tuner car garage near me using a brand new built b16 head. it has 0 miles on it. and i'm doing all of the recommended upgrades at the same time. ie. water pump oil pump timing belt and tensioners.

and yes my rents would be paying for the lease but idk if i can deal with having a car i can't do anything to

Shut up baby, I know it!
lol the new Si is gona be faster then a LSv, so take that into consideration, not to mention the fact that its gona be a ridiculously better ride and a nicer car all around. which garage were you planning on going to for the lsv?

if the ls/v build was gonna be "top of the line" like you state then i would go with that. Thats just my opinion though. Like you said though you would have no more money after that is done though. How quickly can you get back on your feet? You got a job? Or are you worried that if an emergency comes up you wont be able to cover yourself?
