i need help understanding a turbo.

hi guys im trying to research up on turbos and ive got a little bit of a grasp on turbos like i know that the A.R has to do with size and how long your turbo lag is, correct? also the t3, t3/t4, t4 are all in a way the size of the turbo but more so the flange type? (bolt on pattern?) if some one could just give me a link that will explain what exactly the T3/T4 means and what exactly the a.r ratio and compression ratio mean. i have looked and am having trouble finding what i am looking for, can someone give me a link to check out or if you have time shoot me and answer. thanks for all your help, it is very appreciated.

Have you looked at the sticky threads for this section? I'm gonna guess you haven't... start there. Then read the g2ic article. Just search dude, all the info is around here.

^^^^This. Subject is beaten to death. Also, read a book called maximum boost by corky bell. You'll be a turbo expert after :)
