I got fucked. Help please

Finally got my 1990 RS out of the shop after 3 months of being "rebuilt" the guy ended up going to jail and my car had been sitting for about a month. After I drove it home.. it didn't start, the check engine light was on, it has to be push started, it blows smoke out of the tailpipe along with fluid that I can best assume is water. It smells like nothing but is clear with a brownish tint to it. I have no idea what to do with the car besides get a new alternator so that I don't have to push start it anymore. From what I can tell he tore apart my motor and stuck his dick in it and put it back together. I have no idea what to do about the check engine light, blowing smoke(white), and fluid. Please help

Yea probably head gasket and get a paper clip and check the cel code and it might be your starter if you have to push start it every time

I know it's the alternator cuz I can jump it to start it. Hopefully... HOPEFULLY he did rebuild it and after a new alternator and head gasket it'll be nice and smooth running.

If you can jump start it, that sounds more like battery to me. If you take the jumper cables off when it's running does it die?
