How to tell if someone replaced clutch??

I had a guy replace my clutch and he came back and told me that my transmission is bad. Well I dont believe him because I know every mile this car has been and the clutch was ridden for fourteen years by an old woman and I think he just adjusted my clutch and let it ride in hopes of getting me to replace the trans. Is there a quick way to see if it was in fact replaced?

Ask him for the old clutch!

I always save old parts to show someone when I work on their car. And most GOOD mechanics would do the same incase a question arises
