how to stake nuts

what does it mean by staking nuts, and how do you do it. Cuz I have to replace my wheel stud on my car and it says to stake the axle nut after i put everything back together, so what do I do.

it didnt show staking. use a flat chisel to lock the hub nut to the axel or spindle.

what part of it do u lock to the axle

its where u tap the top of the axel nut into the notch on the bolt so it wont back off.
