So I was trying to install my short shifter into my car yesterday but when I got under the car the nuts were rusted and stripped... anyone got any suggestions on how to get them out???

1.) pound a smaller size socket onto it and turn it out
2.) vice grips
3.) chizzle and hammer
4.) weld a new nut onto it

EDIT:
5.) depending what the bolt/screw is dremel it off and get a new one. That's what I did for my passenger side rear knuckle bolt.

Have fun, it usually isn't... lol

they have drill bits that go in the oppostite direction as usual. they are called back outs i think? anyway you drill a hole in the bolt/screw then use the special drill bit in reverse and itll take it right out. also break free is your friend. ;)

Yea they make sockets that create new grooves so u can get them out. $25 for a set at Advanced Auto Parts. I got them when I found a stripped brake bleeder screw on my caliper for my Malibu. Couldnt get a new one cuz GM discontinued them lol.
