do you mean the plastic ractangular panel that goes around the leather shift boot?
I have successfully taken the entire center cnosole apart, and unsuccessfully put it back together.

There are two screws holding it in on one side. You have to actually take the entire front part console out and flip it over to unscrew it.
That may requiere unscreweing the holder of the ashtray, i do not remember, but its like 10 screws. just remember which ones go where to put it back together easily.

the car audio store that installed my alarm drilled a hole through it to put the glass breaking sensor (mic) there.

Well it looks like there are 6 screws.

The two on the sides in each footwell.

Two under the cover near the e brake.

Two behind the ashtray/ lighter assy. You have to pull the tray/ lighter out to get to them.

mkornely is right, once you remove the center console area, there are 2 screws holding one side in, and the other side is just 2 tabs that overlap the center console.

yea, i didnt know how to explain those two tabs, you have to put the plastic piece back in a certain way when you re-assemble it because of those two tabs
