So I noticed a few threads about the infamous shifter wobble and decided I would post up with my findings.
The wobble I am referring to is fairly bad. While in gear the shifter had almost as much movement as neutral does.
The first thing most people assume when you mention a wobbly shifter is that your shifter bushings are worn out. This may be the case, but I have noticed most of the time it's not. It's worth doing anyways just because the new bushings could help tighten things up.
I ordered mine from:
http://www.energysuspensionparts.com
They were under $15.
So you changed those but it didn't help! Well your problem is most likely in the OTHER shift rod. BrokenTalon27 posted this link in another thread about the shifter wobble and I think it could help you. It is so repair the shift joint where the shifter stabilizer is.

This is what I went off of to fix my shifter. Although I wasn't quite as professional as him while doing so. I basically just looked through my shop's bolt bin and found one that would work and took a grinder to it.
In the article above the guy actually removes the whole shift rod, if you can do this.. it's about 50,000,000 times easier, sadly though, I could not. I grinded the pin with it still attached to the transmission, something I DO NOT suggest doing.. I basically followed the article except my spacers were not as nice as his. I just filled the joint with a few mismatched sized washers and a 13mm socket. You should stick to the article if you do not have access to a big bolt bin full of thousands of bolts and washers.
I put it back together and it shifts like a normal car.
I hope this helps someone out there, just figured I would post my findings.
