how to charge power capacitor

picked up a used power cap for my amp and it said on the cap to charge before install. so how do you do it?

ive read to hook it up to a battery with a light and let the light dim down. can i just use speaker wire?

Strange, it shouldn't need to charge up before an install. It charges up before any power is given to the amp, the capacitor is supposed to be charged before it releases current i think. Anyways, just hook it up to a battery like you said, give it a few minutes, and connect to the amp. It shouldn't take long at all, it's basically a very weak battery.
