how to adjust e brake

so i was doin my brakes on my car and i finished my e brake wasnt working so wondering if someone can help me

what's not working exactly? When you pull up the handle, it doesn't engage?

it doesnt engage. like wen i pulled the handle it seems very easy to pull up

Have you taken a look at your rear brakes to see if they are acually engaging when the handle is up? There is a wire attached that should tighten when you pull the handle. This in-turn manually applies the rear brakes. There is also a way to adjust the ebrake.

You have to tighten the cable when your brake pads wear down, not when they're brand new.

Have you driven the car? Are the brakes working properly? Is this your first time doing brakes?

Not to thread jack, but my ebrake handle doesn't stay down, its like its loose when its not engaged, would tightening the tension fix this as well?
