How often should I wax?

I recommend just paying attention and seeing when water no longer beads off your car. Because there are some factors as to how long a coat of wax will last on a given car.
-How much time it spends in direct sunlight, sunlight evaporates it quicker.
-How, and how often, you wash your car. If you like to occasionally (or all the time) use those do-it-yourself high pressure hoses at the carwash, it blasts the wax off. Hand washing with a Chenille cloth is best.

I personally wax my car once a year, in the spring. But I do a damn good job at it and it lasts, it takes me 5-6 hours. I use to do it twice a year, but I'm not that anal anymore, hehe. I do the whole 3 step system.
-Prep the surface with bug & tar remover, clay bar, pre-wax cleaner.
-Polish the bare surface
-Wax, 2 coats.

I use Mother's and Meguiars products, they're both good brands.

I like your schedule...I want to know what exactly you use if you dont mind.. what kind of bug & tar remover, clay bar and pre-wax cleaner?...also how do you polish the bare surface? and what kind of brand of wax do you use?

Step 1

Blue Majic Bug & Tar, Meguiars clay bar, Mothers pre-wax cleaner (I'll switch to Meguiars when that bottle runs out, which will happen this spring).

Step 2 & 3
Meguiars polish and wax. Polish goes on just like wax, it's just in liquid form. You rub it on, let it dry to a haze, then wipe off.

I use these to clear up/get scratches out of my headlights, and blacken my trim.

i do it twice a year one time before the winter and one time before summer or spring depending on when the sun comes out (somethimes its a bit early or late you nver know here in belgium :p)

also its better to do 2 decent jobs like tegsox then just get a quick wax on or spray on shit every 2 months :D
