Hello everyone. I am new to the forums! And with a question as well! A buddy of mine is selling a 1994 acura integra with about 220k miles on the body and supposedly around 40k on a swapped b20b engine and transmission..Cars body is in decent shape with a few dings here and there. Car has had the muffler system replaced with stock OEM in the last 2 years along with the rear shocks/struts and brake calipers/rotors/pads... Car does have a decent sound system. Sub, amp, speakers, head unit ect..Has some decent wheels 17" that aren't ricer and new tires. All belts have been replaced along with a complete tune up in the last 10k miles. (spark plugs, rotor, distributor, trans and coolant flush) A/C Blows cold

The bad:
Sunroof doesn't work.. it started leaking so he just sealed it shut instead of fixing it.
Horn doesn't work..he had originally replaced it with aftermarket horn but that broke too, so if i would want to replaced with honda oem i would have to replace the connector as well..
The front HID's one of the lights has a flickering problem and sometimes randomly goes off on the right side. he replaced the ballast but it still flickers, so i'm guessing it is a relay problem of some sort..
Car has
Front Struts/Shocks are stock on the car and have 220k miles on them. who knows how long it will last..
Interior Map lights have some sort of electrical problem...they work for about 5 seconds , then flicker off..
Does not have paperwork for the engine and trans swap. The engine came from japan who the mechanic stated had 18k miles on it..he has since then put on another 20k... so 40k.. I can confirm its a b20 due to the engine code its just the fact that he doesn't have the paperwork to back it up throw it off..

He just got a brand new car and says he will let it go for cheap. I'm just wondering what you guys would pay for that car..Thanks people!

1,000 to 2,000 MAYBE.
It has a good amount of problems and you're going to have to put some money into it to fix it up.

Thanks for your input. Do you believe 1200 is a decent offer or too much?

Thanks, I actually own a 1995 as well that is in great condition. It is a much more enjoyable car to be in and much more mechanically sound. (I paid 2000 for it and had 88k miles). After second thought and hearing your input, I believe an offer close to 1000 is probably a more realistic value..

Yeah. I bought my 1999 LS from a friend for 2,900$, two weeks later the motor shit out and I had to drop a new one in -_- it's a project though, and I love it.

I tried he got mad and said man don't low ball me. haha.. He claims that he just spent 300 dollars on new tires for the car and combined with the head unit and subwoffer along witht he ipod/aux dock tweeters/speakers is worth what he is asking for as it is... hmm
also he said he paid 2500 for the engine and trans swap and got a macco paint job last year... he does make a good case, but if you guys the experts think its worth a grand then, i'll keep pushing.

You're not lowballing him. Lowballing would be asking 500. Tell him about all the issues you are going to need to fix when you buy the car, hopefully that convinces him to do 1000.

Well the HID's i'm just going to get rid of, I assume getting rid of the HIDs is just changing the bulb and removing the ballast connection no? and the horn problem i assume a horn isn't as difficult.. but i got him down to 1100..if those two problems are easy to fix as i have stated then i guess it isn't a bad deal..if i have something wrong let me know

Yeah, it's that simple. But don't quote me on that. I always seem to run into more problems that I expect. As for the horn, don't even bother fixing it. I NEVER use more horn. 1100 is pretty good, go for it.
