your engines life depends on the care you give it .. i have heard of engines going up to over 300k

if you over rev, dont check the fluids, belts and give it proper maintainance you might only get 10K miles

honda motors are grrrrrreat!! as stated earlier. treament is the ultimate anwser. on average though a honda motor daily driven by the average joe who will neglect an oil change/tune up everyonce in awhile will last upwards of 200K+ miles.

i have a video of some people trying to blow a civic motor. they completely removed the header and held it at redline for awhile, then they drained ALL the oil and bounced it off of the revlimiter for awhile, then they poured a good half gallon of water into the valve cover and did burnouts for the better part of a day... after about 4 hours they gave up for the day.
the SECOND day they poored even more water into the valve cover hoping the motor would blow... they held it at rev limiter for 5 minutes or so, they took it out and drove it, the put spare tires on the front and did burnouts on metal sheets they had until they blew one set of tires and had to put on another. then took it back out and drove it some more, buned out some more, and held it at rev limit some more.... about 4 hours into the second day the motor finally hydro locks........

it never blew, now i'm not saying try this by any means..... but it shows that honda motors can take a beating and keep on tickin.
